Therapy for Grief in Overland Park, Kansas
Grief touches every part of life. Whether you’ve lost a spouse, parent, child, friend, pregnancy, pet, or relationship, the pain can feel overwhelming.
You may feel lost and unsure of what to do next, unable to think, or disconnected from others around you. You wonder if you’ll feel like yourself again.
Grief therapy offers a way to work through painful emotions, so you can feel safer, reduce feelings of guilt, and learn to carry your grief while continuing to move forward.
ABOUT GRIEF
Grief looks different for everyone. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Grief isn’t limited to the loss of a loved one. We can experience grief whenever something meaningful changes or comes to an end.
Grief is deeply personal, and everyone experiences loss differently. Some people cry, while others may feel numb, angry, anxious, or simply “not like themselves.” You may want to talk about your loss, while someone else may need space. Your grief may change from day to day, and there is no set timeline for healing.
Therapy offers a safe, compassionate space to make sense of your unique experience, honor what you've lost, and find a way to move forward while carrying your loss with you.

Grief therapy is a type of counseling that helps people process and adapt to a significant loss. -
Grief therapy is different for everyone. We may explore your loss, your emotions, your relationships, your memories, and how life has changed. We may also explore your sense of safety, identity, and connection with others. Most importantly, therapy gives you a place to be honest about your experience without having to pretend that you are okay.

Grief therapy may be helpful when your loss is affecting your relationships, daily life, sense of self, or ability to feel connected to the world around you. What are your fees and do you accept insurance? My fee for services is $150 per 50-minute session.
I am currently considered to be an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide you a superbill each month to give to your insurance. Please check with your insurance about your out of network mental health benefits - many of my clients are able to get reimbursement from their insurance.
Why you should consider working with an “out of network” therapist:
No limitations on sessions. We can meet for as long as you need without having to worry if insurance will cut us off, or end coverage, which could abruptly end your care.
Allows me to offer you more flexible, personalized, and intentional care.
Helps me keep your information completely confidential, without needing to share diagnosis or notes with insurance companies.
Allows us to avoid surprise billing issues, which can lead to lapses in treatment.
Lets us focus on what’s best for you, not what insurance says is best for you!
